Georgia is a country located on the crossroads of Europe and Asia, this is a member country of a former Soviet Union where the mountains of the Caucasus and the Black Sea coast are located. Georgia is famous for monastery ensemble carved out of rock in twelfth -century, which is called Vardzia, as well as for its wine-growing region, Kakheti. The capital, Tbilisi, is famous for its ancient architecture and small paved streets…”. This is an extract from a broad post, which was dedicated to Georgia by American jazz singer Brenna Whitaker.
We will remind you, that on October 15 in Kakheti, in particular, in Kvareli Eden, on the fifth event, Brenna Whitaker, a singer having an extraordinary vocal, the rising star of Jazz, the new discovery of the legendary David Foster performed in front of Georgian and foreign listeners, together with trio. The producer of the singer’s debut album was David Foster.
Brenna is also a favorite jazz singer of Michael Bublé, John Mayer and have performed the duets with her. Brenna Whitaker’s style is vintage, elegant jazz that blends harmoniously with glamorous Hollywood soul of the 50s and 60s of the previous century.
In 2015 year Kvareli Eden hotel, together with Musical business company Bravo Records laid the foundation for a cycle of musical events – Jazz and Wine. The first musical evening was dedicated to the opening of the Kvareli Eden winery, accompanied by the trio concert of the famous American jazzman Frank McComb. The next year, the concert of the popular Cuban singer, Yanela Brooks and her band was held. In 2016, legendary Brazilian musician Tania Maria held an unforgettable concert with the trio and on October 7, 2017, another concert of this series was held, where the Dutch Soul singer Edsilia Rombley and the band Sweet Soul Music Band performed in front of the listener.
Prior to the concert, guests had the opportunity to participate in the ethnographic activities of Kakheti on the area of the Kvareli Eden hotel: picking grapes, squeezing wine into winepress, chacha distillation, dipping of Churchkhela, Kakhetian bread baking and roasting mtvadi.
On the second day of the concert, Brenna visited Bravo Records and spontaneously recorded the song Cry me a River with Joel Thomas, one of the band’s members, with the guitarist of Prince and Stevie Wonder.
