The popular English musician Elijah Minneli, a resident artist of the record label Breadminister, is recording famous Georgian songs at Bravo Records in collaboration with the ensemble Ialoni. Although, he has worked on many similar collaborative projects in the past, this time he offers a fresh style for sound in dub and electronic music genres.
Elijah Minneli’s tracks have millions of listeners in the global music market. His music is performed by artists such as Andrew Weatherall, Batu, and Zakia Sewell (BBC6 Music).
Ialoni is a Georgian traditional music ensemble made up of young female singers, founded in 2009 under the leadership of ethnomusicologist Nino Naneishvili. The ensemble’s main goal is to study different branches of Georgian traditional music. Since 2018, Ialoni has been collaborating with London’s Rose Bruford College of Theatre & Performance, with the Georgian polyphony ensemble Maspindzeli, and with Cambridge’s choir Chello, sharing experience, conducting masterclasses, and holding joint concerts for lovers of Georgian music and students from various countries.
